Ruben Mendoza
Bio:
A graduate of the esteemed LA Sheriffs Academy and formally a detective sergeant, Ruben Mendoza retired five years ago from a California (USA) police agency. He served in investigations for nine years and acquired fourteen hundred and ninety hours of additional training, directly or indirectly, to aid in the investigation of homicides.
Ruben served in several capacities, including command staff. He also was the department range master and defensive tactics instructor. He holds an AS from Rio Hondo College, BA from California State University, Fullerton, and a MS from Chapman University.
Ruben has received numerous commendations throughout his career including being named officer of the year three times, city employee of the year once, as well as receiving the Life Time Achievement Award from CSUF. One of his favorite quotes comes from the movie, The Mechanic, “Victory Loves Preparation”.
He and his wife Lynette, two daughters Kamryn and Korina, two dogs Bruiser and Poppy, and a cat named Charlie, make their home in Madera.
My Family
One of my priorities has been the education for all children and young adults as I come from a family of four sisters and five brothers, they all have established secured positions because of an education, a critical component in life.
The other has been to honor the Military because my dad and each and every one of my five brothers have served in the United States Military. "Navy, Marines, Army and Air Force" Dad joined the Navy and served under Admiral William Halsey Jr. over the course of the Battle for Guadalcanal (1942–43) and the fighting up the Solomon chain in the Pacific with the 7th Fleet during WWII.
One brother served in the U. S. Air Force, one in the U. S. Army, and three in the U. S. Marine Corps. Along with my dad two of my brothers also served during wartime in Vietnam from 1966 - 1968 and from 1968 - 1970. From Dad to my brothers all were highly decorated and accomplished their tour of duty with an Honorable Discharge.
